LOCATION:
Wright City, Texas, Rusk
County,
along Hwy. 64 approximately 2 mi NW of Turnertown, Tx
TERRAIN:
Wooded
OBSERVED: The incidents have been ongoing since 1991. The family at this location have been hearing the hollers and wails continually since they moved to the property. The noises occur usually between 10 pm and 1 am. They describe the yells as unlike anything they've every heard and cannot associate it with any other native wildlife.
The
yells occur mostly through the summer months but happen sporadically through
the winter.
They
usually happen nightly for a period of a few weeks and then stop for a
week or so. Other visitors to the property, who I have interviewed
independently, have verified these occurrences.
During the spring of 1998 the two teenage boys saw two of the creatures for the first time. They were looking across a field at the back of the property and noticed a figure standing at the tree line approximately 150 yds away. They described the creature as tall, hairy, and brownish colored. The creature was bending over and searching through the weeds. After a bit it would stand up and move a few feet to a new location and resume searching. The boys said it looked as if it were picking the dewberries that grow along that tree line. After a few moments a significantly larger creature moved into view and joined the first. The smaller was described as about two thirds the height of the larger. the creatures did not seem to notice the boys and they continued watching it for about 30 minutes. The boys returned to their house to get their mother, but when they returned the creatures were gone.
The
second occurrence was a few nights later, when the mother was preparing
for bed. It was after 11 pm and the mother heard "heavy footsteps" and
the sound of grass crunching as something walked outside the house. She
saw a large figure pass in front of her window, but could not make out
any detail. It moved along the side of the house and began banging on the
walls. This happened for a few minutes then stopped suddenly. The mother
remarked that the
family
dog, which normally barks when anyone comes up to the house, was quiet
and cowering on the floor.
Activities of Witness: Normal daily activities
Description of Creature: Two hairy, and brownish colored creatures, one significantly taller than the other.
Other Notes: The creatures have not been sighted since but were heard for the rest of the summer and occasionally through the winter. They were heard as recently as April of this year. The boys also mentioned finding cattle carcasses in the woods behind the field where they saw the creatures. I examined the area but found only the bones of two or three cows. I found nothing to suggest that these were bigfoot kills but the rancher that owns this property has complained of several cattle losses over the years which he attributes to coyotes or wild dogs.
Other Other Notes: During 1991 another member of this family saw a large, hairy, bi-pedal creature on an isolated road within 1 mile of this house. the creature was spotted in the tree line that hugs the road. The brother returned to the area the next day and reportedly found four-toed footprints that measured approximately 16"
Other people who live along this road had talked to this family about hearing the sounds when they first started. Since then everyone seems not to want to talk about them. The family says that as the sounds are so frequent they don't really pay much attention to them anymore.
The property borders a large timber lease and has a live creek traveling through it. The area is heavily wooded and has thick underbrush.

Notes: I (Bobby Hamilton) was invited
to visit this location and did so on 5-27-99. After spending some
time with John, and exploring the local area, I have no doubts that there
is Bigfoot creatures in the area. NOT mentioning the fact that
for many years basically all of East Texas has been riddled with Bigfoot
activity. We will be doing more investigation in this area and will
be posting our findings on the web site.
