OBSERVED:     It was about two miles up the road to an area where there are beaver ponds
that I harvest on the edge of.  Right as I came around a turn I saw this Brown flash go over the bank right where I was heading.  On one side of the road is a huge white pine planting which is about twenty years old.  The figure went  over the bank and straight into the beaver flats.  I never
knew what it was.  It was just a flash of color in the road.  I pulled over exactly where I saw this.  I smelt that musky mildew dog crap smell.  I first thought it to be a bear. I dropped over the bank into the flat and began cutting the herbs when I heard a loud whisle that I have heard around here thousands of times before and never could relate to an animal.  I stopped working and took a look around when I looked down next to my foot where I was standing and here was a large footprint in the mud.  I was on the edge of the pond and I didn't sink but this did.  I noticed another track out in the pond where the water was stirred up somewhat, it was 18 plus feet away.  I looked up on the freshly logged mountain-side and there was the tops of tree moving as if an animal climbing a tree and then I saw a
dark figure moving up the mountain.  I only had a glimpse again and could not tell what exactly it was on the otherside of the creek from me.  I loaded my truck and drove up the road to a lady's home I know and asked her if she'd ever saw any thing.  She said no but they have wild screams and roars at night, I showed her the track and asked her to photograph it and she said she rather not waste the film....
In years prior to that I had heard of seven or more sightings along that stretch of road.  The stream is  stocked with trout all spring.  I am sure if the animal frequents that area there are likely more sightings in that area.
