LOCATION:  West Virginia Brooke County,
                 on top of a heavly wooded mountain near rt2 south
 

TERRAIN:        Wooded
 

OBSERVED:    I was 12 years old and i had a trap line on top of a large hill
that runs along rt 2 south. It was around 930 pm and i heard a loud scream
that made my hair stand-up on the back of my neck. I was close to my first
trap set and i noticed large prints in the snow. When i arrived at my set
there  was a racoon that was torn to peices and blood was every where. I
proceeded to my next set when a large hairy creature came towards me its
teeth was showing and its eyes were yellow. I think that this animal was
around 6 feet tall and very large in statue. I ran as fast as i could and
jumped off of a clift that was around 20 feet high. I landed in a snow drift
and i ran all the way home. The next day i went back to see if i could make
out what kind of animal i encountered.  The tracks were not very clear but
they were large. I never did find out what the animal was,but now looking
back i think that i saw a bigfoot. I know that it wasn't a bear or any
animal that i have seen throughout my many years of hunting and fishing. All i know that it scared the hell out of me and i never told anyone about it because they probably would not believe me and make fun of me.

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:  6 ft tall and large and hairy with large teeth and yellow eyes.

OTHER SIGHTINGS IN THIS AREA?:   There was a bigfoot sighting in the Wv  Advocate paper near Capon Wv. I read this paper and it took up the entire news paper, and i never have been able to find this paper again. This paper was in the 1980 time frame. I
would be interested in having a copy if you can find one.
