OBSERVED:
I just read your "weird" section and saw that you had sightings from witnesses
of strange birds.
I
am an avid bird lover and own a Cokatiel and Amazon Parrot so maybe being
into birds I let my excitement run away with me. But back in 1992 I was
driving north out of Thornton, Colorado on my way to see my grandparents
in Brighton Colorado. I looked up when I saw a bird flying slowly overhead
as I like to look at birds and saw that this one looked "sickly." What
I mean by that is that it had few feathers and looked "boney" as though
it was starved.
This
bird was about six to eight feet long and had a wing span near to that
even though I am only guessing because I was driving and looking through
the upper windshield at it. It had a beak that made up about two feet of
the bird and the beak seemed to have indentations in both sides.
I
had my window down but could hear no sounds from this bird as it flew northeast
out over a wheatfield.
I
have never seen a bird like that before but I beleive that I have seen
one since flying a few miles to the east of where I saw this one about
ten years later.
The
area where I saw this bird is about 15 miles north of Denver, Colorado
and about a half a mile west of Interstate 25 just north of Thornton, Colorado.A
