OBSERVED:
Here is the deal, my wife and I were out camping deep in back country,
accessible only on dirt roads. It got pretty cold and we thought we smelled
a skunk so instead of the tent we got in the car with our seats leaned
back running the heater and talking when suddenly a large shadow blocked
out the nearly full moon across my back window. I put my hand over my wife's
mouth and was trying to carefully look out the window thinking there might
be a bear. Growing up in Provo I spent years back packing in the Unita's
and had seen bears before. Suddenly I felt a cold chill like looking at
your worst enemy in a dark alley, just as I was about to hit the door lock
button to make sure they were locked the back end of my car suddenly dropped
a full foot or more as if a load of bricks were dropped onto the trunk
and then a moment later as I was scrambling to get the car into gear, the
back end came back up and we drove down that dirt road at an unsafe speed
with my seat in the leaned back position. Once we were in town I stopped
and looked at the back of my car to find a large smudge that looked like
a single foot print of the ball of a size 12-14 foot dead center. It was
a clean smudge rather than treaded marks. I went back with a shot gun and
two friends the next day to get our things and look for foot prints but
all we found was peal out marks and kicked up dirt from my car.
My
friends and I tried duplicating the smudge many times with lots of shoes
and sandals but only a bare or socked foot gave the same result.
Activities
of Witness: We were just hanging
out and talking and eating casually until 1:00 AM when we got cold and
wanted to move to the car.
Description
of Creature: Large enough to block
out the moon light.
