Report
Received From: The Field Research
Notes of GCBRO Field Researcher Al Hicks.
DATE:
1987
TIME:
11:30 pm
LOCATION:
Montgomery County, Texas
Near the border of the Montgomery County and Harris County Line.
TERRAIN:
Wooded
OBSERVED: The eye witness related to me the following event:
About 11:30 PM one evening, while he and his ex-wife were still living in the area described above, he heard his dog barking in the back yard. He said that the bark of his dog sounded very strange and out of place, so he went to take a look.
He heard a sound behind his six
foot tall privacy fence that sounded like something was wrestling around
in the grass, and then two large, six-inch in diameter trees were bent,
swaying and shaking. Then he said the animal stood up and was clearly
visible from the shoulders up. Based upon our discussion, this would
have made the creature about 8 feet tall. He only heard a grunting
sound one time. He described the animal as having a flat face, and
it looked right at him.
Activities of Witness:
Watching T.V.
Description of Creature:
About 8 feet tall, flat face, very darkly colored, upright like a man.
Other Notes: As I interviewed the witness, I found him to be very credible. He also related that after his divorce, he moved out into Montgomery County and had an additional event, but no sighting. As he took possession of his current property, he and a friend had the feeling that they were being watched. They noticed a tree swaying, but there was no wind. He indicated that he had no additional experience to relate.
The witness also stated, that the
following morning, there was a small article in the newspaper of some kids
reporting a sighting of a "Swamp Monster". This event may be on file
with the Houston Chronicle, dated between 1986 and 1989.
Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments: Upon contact the witness had no additional information to add to this report.
