REPORT POSTED TO GCBRO WEB SITE ONAugust 31, 2013

DATE:    08/10/11

TIME:     300

LOCATION:   Jasper County, Texas

TERRAIN:    Wooded

OBSERVED:    This all started about 2 years ago and any one event is not much
but add them up and it gets weird. Last May I had gone up to our property that
we call simply " the springs". Its been in our family since Mr Xxxxxxx sold us
th e property in 1976. My folks went in on the 70 acres with 2 other families.
To make a long story short all three men who went in on it have all passed. My
family bought most of the land from the others and we built a one bedroom in the
80s and since added on to it around 05 and that's about when the stuff started.
So about a year ago I went up to bury my 15 year old mutt Avery. About an hour
into it I hear some movement behind me in the woods (60 yds). I heard what I'd
call a clicking noise back in forth and tried to ignore it as I had a feeling
officer being watched. There was no sound no wind nothing. As I heard it again I
turned and saw a small tree slightly swaying back in forth like something was
holding on to it but just left. I hurried up with my digging so I could get out
of there which is not normal as this is my home away from home. I finish up
throw my stuff in the back of the Envoy, lock the gate and head East towards
the road. I drove about 50 yds and see something out of the corner of my eye and then
hear a loud crash and the small back window of the Envoy exploded. A first I
thought it was a gunshot and slammed on the brakes.

ADDITIONAL THINGS: (Cont. Too hard to type) so as I looked in the back sitting
on the back seat in the middle of the glass was a rock about the size of a
tennis ball. I looked over  to where it had come from and i was at the edge of
the property. At this point there is a clearing. I started yelling thinking it
was kids. The closest neighbor is a 1/4 mile away if not more and its a vacation
home as well. I continue to rant and then realize there's nobody present. Its
dead quiet in the woods and I just all the sudden get spooked again and head
out. Another mile down the road. I passed the school bus and the realization
comes to me, its probably not kids.
In January my uncle had been down was down from out of town with his daughter and
grandson. Now, I.don't ever talk tl my cousin but it was reported to me that her
and her son had been back on the property hiking and came up on what she
described as a bear. She never got a good look at the bear but said she had seen
something black that was paralleling her about 20 yards away. It never got
closer and then moved ahead of them. They were curious because as they walked it
walked. It stopped when they stopped. They started to move a little closer to it
to get a closer look and she said that it growled a low guttural growl that
scared her and her son so badly they ran all the way to.the cabin. She also
mentioned that she believed it followed them on the same parallel path...never
moving in behind them. I have heard bears are back in this part of Texas and a
neighbor told my sister in law that they had seen one on our property right by
the cabin. What's strange is she didn't get a good look at it but she mentioned
it was standing up trying to look in the back.window. which leads me to this. We
put an alarm system up in 2005 and up until 2011 we had maybe 3 false alarms. In
the last 18 months we've had over a dozen false alarms. Each time the alarm has
been triggered, its been a window meaning the alarm company can reset and there
was no breach. The windows were rattled or these house was shook. Also, only one
time was there bad weather that day. The times were all between the hours of
12am and 5am in the morning.

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:  N/A

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS:   On the Friday after Thanksgiving, my sister and her kids were down
from DC. It was dusk and we had been out all day playing horseshoes and drinking
beers. As dinner was getting ready, my niece, nephew, daughter and son were
outside making whoops and tree knocks. The kids love FB and I realized after the
first show BF wasn't showing with 15 man production crew in the forest. We were
just screwing around. After my five year old let out a high pitched whoop and I
did some loud knocks....we got return knocks. Now I realize we are surrounded by
deer leases. Anyway, we kept it up as they seemed maybe 3 to 4 hundred yards
away. Then we got more and they seemed to get closer. After 15 mins. The knocks
had gotten so close as they were just the other side of the pond, maybe 50 yards
away. Our land is unaccesable to where they had traveled. They would had to
absolutely knowingly trespass onto our land in the middle of deer season and
walk thru dense underbrush to continue this prank if it were a prank. Anyway,
two other times I've heard knocks and neither times after this had I initiated
the knocks. The last time it was memorial day and the knocks were much softer
and incredibly close. Do they knock this softly? Almost like a woodpecker but
very slow and much quieter.  It was unnerving as I was walking the trail
(recently recut) and I was in the middle of the taps.

OTHER NOTES:    There are other things as a clump of tan hair that was taken out
of the front porch post about 5'5" off the ground. I left the hair in a bag up
there.

HISTORICAL OR NEIGHBoRING AREAS:  N/A

ADDITIONAL NOTES AND-OR FOLLOW-UP COMMENTS Follow-Up Investigation Performed by Bobby Hamilton, Brenden Hamilton and Brady Hamilton - Upon arrival, we noticed the area was heavily wooded, and had plenty of water sources.  The witness was already at the location awaiting our arrival.  We arrived later in the afternoon.  It was extremely hot, so rather than arrive early, we waited until later in the day, to let the sun get more towards the West and closer to setting.  Upon arrival, we met the witness, and got a visual of the cabin, and general outlay of the living quarters area, we setout to canvas the wooded area.  Along the way, we observed several unusual limb formations, that made no logical sense as far as being man made in any way.  We also found a partial foot print.  In one area, we came to an area where the witness said they had a nephew who was hunting in a ground blind during deer season, and was spooked from their stand, because they seen a bear, that keep peeking out from being a tree and looking at them.  In that same general area where the supposed "Bear" was peeking out of, I located another weird limb formation.  At this point it was getting later in the evening and we had worked up a good sweat and started working our way back to the cabin.  It was extrememly hot and dry, so we decided against building a fire that night.  So we sat out and listened to the night sounds.  At one point we did let the witness make some tree knocks, but that was it.  All was quiet except for the normal night sounds.  Then a good hour or so later, I heard it at a distance, very faintly, but it was definitely the sound I knew all too well.  The one sound that the GCBRO has heard and verified in our research.  What we call the Bionic Bird, which is not a bird at all.  It made it's chortling sound a few more times, getting closer and closer each time, until it was close enough in the woods, that it was in a position in the woods, that it could see the cabin and us outside the cabin, then we didn't hear it anymore.  After approximately another hour to an hour and a half, with no action, we called it a night and headed home.  I have no doubt, that there is activity in this area, and the witness has a creature coming up to their cabin.  More field research at this location will be conducted in the future.
