LOCATION:
Hardin County, Texas
TERRAIN:
Wooded
OBSERVED:
On a recent trip to one of my best friends grand parents place to help
clean the property from some debris that was left from a previous hurricane
i showed up right at sun up, i smelled something like a wet dirty dog and
when i started to walk into the woods at the back of the property about
45 ft from where i smelled the stench i saw what looked like a big gorilla,
i stand at 6'1" and this thing was a good 2 to 2 1/2 feet taller then i
am it made a sound like a groan and kinda scurried off when i walked to
where the "animal" was standing and on the ground there was an imprint
like something had been laying there
Activities
of Witness: was walking around
observing the work that had to be done that day
Description
of Creature: It was at lesat 8 ft
tall and real hairy it was right at sun up so it was still kinda dark out
in the woods but the hair was thick and dark i didn't look at its face
it seemed that it kept its back to me
Other
Notes: Since hurricane
IKE alot of the trees and thick wooded areas have fallen and been cleared
and there has been alot of "game" activity although the animal that i saw
hasn't been seen before. His aunt and grandparents did mention that
a couple of days prior they had heard some strange noises coming from the
back of the property
Other
(Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes:
To my knowledge there was no occurrences like this one before we had talked
to my buddies grandparents as well as his great aunt who also lives on
the property and they all have denied seeing anything before that day we
are planning on another trip to set out some game trail cameras to see
if we can capture this beast on film
Additional
Notes and or Follow up Comments:
Follow
Up Notes by Bobby Hamilton: A
follow up conversation was had with the witness over the phone following
the submission of this report. The witness, said that when he arrived
at the property, that he was standing there looking at the back of the
property. He noticed an awful smell, similar to a wet dirty dog.
Then he said something moved and caught his attention, and that is when
he shifted his gaze and saw this thing standing there. It appeared
to have it's back towards him, and he said it just stood there and at one
point it kinda raised one of its arms up and you could see longer hair
hanging off it's arm. He said he must have looked at it for maybe
two minutes, before it walked off. He said he had a small caliber
handgun on him, but did not feel it was enough weapon to do enough damage
to this thing, it was that big.
Since the report was posted, he has found out that, the neighboring wildlife has been acting funny in the sense, that they used to come up on the back of the property to be fed, and they had stopped doing so about a week prior to this event. There has also been alot of weird vocalizations being heard in the evening hours that wasn't previously being heard.
Also, a neighbor had a hog that was killed and the head and front shoulder was torn off and missing. The neighbor followed the blood trail to a nearby woodline and didn't proceed to follow the blood any further. The man said it looked like it was either torn off, or cut off with an extremely dull hatchet.
The Saturday evening following the initial encounter (April 25, 2009), the grandfather went out to feed their chickens and seen the creature or "A" creature moving across the end of their property.
The next morning on Sunday morning (April 26, 2009) the grandmother, looked out her kitchen window and seen what she described as a possible smaller creature, with a different shade of brown hair blending into the black hair, moving across the back of their pasture area.
I am
in contact with the witness and, when our work schedules permits us, we
will both meet out at the location and I will do a full field report on
the area and the incidents described in this report.
