LOCATION:   Texas, Gregg County
 

TERRAIN:    New unused bypass highway
 

OBSERVED:    While driving home from work one night, I came to the new 4 way stop outside of my home town. What was once 300 acres of lush, thick pine tree forest, has been turned into a new bypass . I looked over to my right towards what used to be the forest and in the bright moonlight, I saw approximately 50 yards from me, a man like person walking along side the new road way. He was slumped over a bit, and was moving slowly away from me. I honked my horn and he looked back towards me and VERY quickly dashed from the side of the roadway into the remaining tree line. I sat there for a moment and heard a loud yell that sounded like someone yelling HEY!!  HEEEEEEEEY!!!! I sat there at the stop sign for at least 5 min during which I heard the same yelling at least 2 times a minute, and during the last two minutes, they got VERY close. The last time I heard it, I felt something hit the hood of my truck, and it scared me so much that I dropped the clutch and sped away.  I saw a large mass of something on the hood of my truck and it smeared onto my window, and when I got into town, I stopped and saw that someone had thrown a large glob of red east texas clay onto my truck.

Description of Creature:  He was very large, and dark in color, stooped over a bit, but extremely fast when he took cover
 

Other Notes:    I went back to investigate the next morning and walked down to the spot on the road way where I saw this creature, there were some footprints in the soft clay, but I noticed that the work crew that was there working had walked all over the site.

Back in the 70's , a family not 5 miles from the area reported being harassed by a large dark furred man type creature about 7 foot tall. the creature yelled at them and had a primate appearance. I found out this information after the fact and add it here to show other occurrences in this area .
 

Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments:  Upon contact on the evening of September 26, 2003 the witness responded with this information.
I went out there tonight and drove around a little bit...I dont know a hole lot about these creatures, but man, I was actually a little spooked while out there tonight. Not only that, but it stank so bad it almost gagged me man. I am still spooked as I write this, I actually got so spooked while there that I think I ruined my radiator leaving there...I drive an old Ford truck and I gassed the accelarator pedal so hard that it sucked the radiator into the fan.
