LOCATION:
Denton County, Texas
TERRAIN:
Wooded
OBSERVED:
We had a rather uneventful first day, but as night drew closer, it seemingly
grew more intresting. First of all it was a very, very hot day/night. I
was sweating and I knew I would have probems sleeping. However, my brother
had fallen asleep quite quickly. Secondly, we had begun to hear a loud
noise around 9 pm or so. It was a high pitched, bird-like sound. It was
most likely either a injured deer or perhaps a lost fawn. It stayed off
in the distance for hours. But it slowly grew ever closer. This put me
on edge, and because of this I had even more problems falling asleep. Eventually,
the deer was no more than 25 yards away from our tent. Close enough for
me to hear it's light footsteps. Then abruptly, the noise stopped. All
was silent for, roughly, thirty seconds. Then there were quick, incredibly
heavy footsteps and a squeal. Then silence once again, except there was
a breathing sound. A heavy breathing sound. Also I could smell something
different. I was paralyzed in fear. But when the breathing became some
what heavier, I managed to peek up where I could see. What I saw, I will
never forget. A large humanoid creature with red fur squatting near one
of the lights we had set around our camp. This was no animal and certainly
no human. I could make out it's bulging muscles in the light. Near the
creature was a baby fawn, ripped in half. And on the other side of the
creature was a very similar creature laying on it's back. It's fur was
black and patchy. And it didn't appear to be moving. The squatting creature
wasn't eating the fawn, rather it appeared to be "preparing" it, gutting
it and such. Finally it took a strip of flesh and rested it on the mouth
of the creature laying down. The laying creature did nothing. After a few
seconds the squatting creature stopped this behavior. It just squatted
there staring at the ground for a moment. Then it stood up, taking the
fawn in one hand. It proceeded to pick up the darker creature and drap
it over it's shoulder. Then it walked off into the darkness.
ADDITIONAL THINGS:
I would not like to recount my experience more times than is absolutely
neccesary. This will be only the 3rd time I have ever relived this night.
I had gone to visit my brother. Who, at the time was studing at UNT. My
brother and I decided we would go camping at the lake. We just happened
to pick the most remote camping site. This was the first time we had ever
gone camping together and the first time either of us had camped at this
particular lake. We had planned a two day camping trip.
DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:
The creature with red fur being roughly seven feet tall. It walked on two
legs. It had bulging muscles and wide shoulders. The other creature had
black fur with patches of grey and baldness. It was difficult to tell how
tall, but definitely larger than the red creature.
ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS:
Camping activities. Cooking, urinating around the camp.
OTHER NOTES:
I couldn't believe this had happened. I layed down, and I didn't sleep
for hours. I did fall asleep eventually, but I was quickly awoken by my
brother. He has type 1 diabetes and sometimes he gets these attacks where
he starts shaking violently. I had never been alone with him when he had
one of these attacks. I called 911. It took them hours to reach the site
and by the time they arrived, it was dawn. They fixed him right up and
we decided to spend the rest of the day and the next night. Both of which
were normal. I've since returned home to Austin.
HISTORICAL OR NEIGHBORING AREAS:
Not that I'm aware.
