TIME:     2:00 A.M.

LOCATION:  Overton County, Tennessee
 

TERRAIN:     Rocky Terrain,
                 Heavy Woods with overhanging cliff.
 

OBSERVED:   I was camping out in the back woods. This is at the end of an old county road not in use anymore, except by 4 wheelers etc. I was camping by myself, whitch I do often. This location has a spring, and there was once an old house there. (Now gone.)

I had a few beers that night, and was playing music on my radio till about 1:30 A.M.
I had noticed a smell that was between old eggs & wet moss, it really stank bad. I thought it might had been a rattlesnake. I have lived in Florida for many years, and when the snake gets alarmed they have a smell, kinda' like that. I stoked up the fire and broke out the flash light, looking all over the ground, but saw nothing.
I shut off the radio, and climbed into my tent for the night. The fire was burning low.
But with enough light to see around the tent by.

I had no sooner layed down, then I heard this wickedest sound I have ever heard, I have heard big cats. panthers and bobcats, wildboars, deer snort, owls, you name it and I have heard it.  But this scream and low roar, still makes the hair stand up all over my body.  Not much scares me but this scared the hell out of me. I grabed my gun and unziped the tent. I heard some snaping of branches above me where the spring emptys out. I put the wood to the fire, and kept it going till morning. No way could I sleep!
I don't know what it was, I saw nothing.  But as long as I live I will never forget that night sound. And even now as I send this e-mail I have the chills.

I have spoke about this to the brothers who lease the land for tobacco etc. And he told me to my surprise one of his friends also heard something out there that he has never heard, and he just thought he was jokeing.  I don't know if it was a bigfoot or what and I don't want to hurt anything, but if it came out and at me, I might have shot the hell out of it.

I have told this story to a few people, and they act as if they don't believe me I don't care. I know it was something big and loud. There is also a cave, about 200 yards away from this spot.

The reason I have replied to this is because of the reports in Overton Co. Tennessee. I don't think these people are just doing SHINE!  And making up stories.

Activities of Witness(es):   Camping and playing good old music. I had the music up loud. Maybe what ever it was, was just watching me, or maybe it liked the Old Country Music I played that night. But I was having a fun night out till I heard that sound.

Description of Creature:   Saw nothing thank God!, That is why I'm sending this e-mail. Because of all the reports in Overton Co.Tennessee. If I could contact some of these people that might have heard their creature, it may shed some light as to what I heard.
