OBSERVED:    While attending URI in 1975 I stayed at my girl friend's house for the weekend. That
Sunday night I had to get back to campus for class on Monday. I decided to ride my ten speed
bike back, I stopped to adjust my front center pull brake under a street light at the
intersection of Perry Ave., just down her street. In front of me across the street was a small
field that sloped down away from me.

  I was bent over my handlebars when I started to hear very heavy steps so heavy that I could
hear the actual compression of each step of a biped. It was not snapping twigs but rather a
crushing thud like step. I said to myself "its nothing", an went back to adjusting my brake.
The sound was getting closer and closer, heavier and heavier. I said "this thing is huge", at
about that time a dog starts barking like crazy I can hear the chain snap as it tries to
either attack or getaway. Now I decide to get going, into a few peddles on my bike going
north, from out of the darkness steps into the street light this white looking gorilla about
six feet tall maybe 400 to 450 pounds. Standing with arms straight down bent over on its
knuckles knees slightly bent. Perhads twenty to twenty five feet away, across the street from
me, on my right side. The eyes are set close, the nose human like but wide, the back of the
head was higher than the front. Around its lips was black hair that went down on the sides of
the mouth to about the chest which had very little hair. The arms and legs are enormous. For a
moment it just stares at me then begins to chase me down the street for five maybe ten yards
if that. I made it to the top of the street and looked back it had stopped in the middle of
the street, turned ran and jumped over a rock wall.

Description of Creature:    White looking gorilla about six feet tall maybe 400 to 450 pounds. Standing with arms straight down bent over on its knuckles knees slightly bent. The eyes are set close, the nose human like but wide, the back of the head was higher than the front. Around its lips was black hair that went down on the sides of the mouth to about the chest which had very little hair. The arms and legs are enormous.
 

Other Notes:    I had spoken to a person the next day who also saw it in a gravel pit.

Some tens after my wife was attending CCRI college here in Lincoln. She over heard a
conversation during lunch between a botany professor and friend who was on a field trip in the
area. He said he saw a white gorilla standing in the background watching them. My wife turned
towards the professor and said you know my husband saw the same thing.
 

Additional Notes or Comments:  Something similar has been seen here in the Northeast. Cape Code and Virgina, reports on white or silver creature.
