OBSERVED: I am an avid hunter and outdoors man whom loves nothing more then to get out and trout fish along XXXXXXX Creek, near Laurelville, PA. Above my house there is an old logging road which will take you directly to what most people call the "3rd falls", which is easily accessable with an ATV. While fishing, I moved along the creek about every 100 yards, stopping and fishing each hole. The trail comes to a deep ravine that drops about 30 feet. The only way to continue to fish is to circle around the hillside on a small quad trail and drop down a small hill to the rest of the creek. The area was torn apart by logging around 1997. Much of the brush had grown back making it thick, full of wild berry bushes, and a couple large beech nut trees. Old lumber covers the ground, and the hills are mostly washed away by heavy rain fall causing them to become very steep. Once I got to the last hole on the trail which is approximately the mid point between XXXXX and XXXXX, PA, I began to fish, sitting on my quad.
It wasn't bad weather, over-cast, and cold for April. I caught a couple real nice trout and on the last cast I began to place them on my stringer. The bank is only about 2 ft. up from the water so I layed myself down on my stomach and began to jab the stringer into the clay bank. Just as I managed to get the metal part into the bank the largest noise came from behind me.
I layed in the same position for a couple seconds, and when I turned around there was nothing there. Deer I figured. I returned to my stringer and soon enough the noise reappeared. I raised to my knees, and turned my head to my left and nothing again. As I turned my head back towards the water I caught the glimpse of the bushes moving, slowly, high up, around 12 feet or so, maybe a little less. The first thing I presumed was "bear!". The creek is only around 15 feet wide, and around 3-6 feet deep.... and no damn bear, or deer, or other Appalachian animal could have possibily jumped the creek... but what I saw, and I'll swear my life on the Catholic Church, was the stinkiest, dirtiest, animal I have ever seen in my life.
WIth a bounce it went from about 4 feet deep in the bushes to the other side of the creek which is clear and open. A jump of approximately 20-22 feet. It wasn't very tall, about the size of an average man, but thick in the chest and arms. Muscular upper body. I was on my knees and i swear I have never felt such panic and disbelief, astonishment, fear, etc. in my life. I could not move at all...totally frozen.
It never looked my way or even noticed my presence, just seemed to literally roll around on the stones, some what like what a chicken would do in the dirt to clean themselves of lice (i'm not saying thats what was going on, but...) It stayed there for around what seemed like forever.! ..and then it crossed over the hill and went down over the other side...never noticing me at all.
Its legs were short and stalky, and it seemed to be white, but was so filthy I can't give an exact color. I left my fish and got out of there quick. The quad ride home was horrible..I vomited twice my stomach was so upset and around every twist and turn I took notice to every movement, in fear of contact with "it" again.
When
I got home my mom was cooking supper and when my dad returned home from
work I told him what happened. He laughed at me and said "yeah right".
So I never really told anyone, except for my best freind XXXXX. He
is the one who informed me on the web-site. To this day I will not
go down there unless armed or with a group...but if anyone has doubts in
my story I will personally give them a self-guided tour of exactly where
I saw the creature I presumed to be "Bigfoot".
ACTIVITIES
OF WITNESS(ES): I was fishing XXXXXX
Creek, using and ATV to travel.
DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE: Approximately 5'10" around 300 lbs., thick hair, completely covered. Muscular upper body, No view of the face or head....Its legs were short and stalky, and it seemed to be white, but was so filthy I can't give an exact color.
OTHER
NOTES: When the creature leaped the creek
it landed on all fours...like a cat would, except its legs were tucked
up underneatch it and its hands were in a fish type... landing on its nuckles.
my first thought was a Mountain Ape.....and it raised on its hind legs...and
its arms touched the ground... It was no damn bear, no damn dog, no damn
deer, no damn person. No one jumps a creek that wide, or is that
hairy, and no one, I mean no one could ever possibily smell that rank.
I
know what I saw, I know what is fact and what is fiction.
