TIME:
Approx. 9 or so.
LOCATION:
Yamhill County, Oregon
TERRAIN:
Sandy shore with woods behind all around and a river
OBSERVED:
Me and a couple of friends had been fishing all afternoon and had noticed
it was begining to get dark and we decided to give it a couple more minutes,
maybe try to catch some catfish if possible. Things got weird from that
point. I had just caught a small fish and had just unhooked it and put
it back in the water when we all noticed a strange smell. I was on the
right side so my other two friends had noticed before me, and then i heard
something in the woods to the right of us and when asking about it, my
one friend said he had been hearing it for a few minutes. We decided it
was time to go at that point. The smell was something i have never smelt
before, i can't even de scribe it. It for sure wasn't a skunk and i doubt
it was garbage or anything because we hadn't smelled anything all afternoon.
We packed everything up and while we were making our way through the small
area of trees to the car, i heard something moving next to me in the dark.
Not knowing what else to do and not wanting to look for what it was, took
off running, snapping my line on a tree and high tailing it to the car.
I dont know if what happened was a bigfoot or what. But i know that after
reading peoples stories about the horrendous smell, im starting to think
that that maybe what it was. If anyone has had any encounters like that
around the locks, please get ahold of me somehow and iany suggestions about
what it was would be awesome. i just know that it scared the hell out of
me at the time, and i haven't been back there since.
