LOCATION:  SE Oklahoma and NE Texas areas, locations are withheld due to ongoing investigations.
 
 

TERRAIN:Wooded, Mountains
 
 

OBSERVED:  Okay folks here's the report of our weekend trip into a new area in SE Oklahoma.  I will use A & B for the names of some of the people involved, to protect their confidentiality.  Well there was some
activity in the area we went into, but they were not there as in living there as we initially thought.  They
lived across the river and we were too beat to even go into that area after spending a long day on the road Friday as well as Friday and Saturday walking the mountains in the area we were in.  NOT to mention the humidity.  Man it was killer.  Anyway, after we got there on Friday, we hit the trail and traversed the area fairly thoroughly.
A. saw one on the next mountain looking at us, and then David Holley looking in the same area seen a smaller one.  They were in some thick tree coverage, looking from one mountain to the other watching us, and I wasn't looking in the right spot to see anything, and missed them.  They were approximately 300 yards away.  A. was doing his best to get a good resting spot to take a shot at the large one, but when he moved to the tree below where he was standing, he was too low, and the one up above put him too high.  Not to mention he was having to try and hold his hand over the end of the scope as we were facing partially into the sun.
He viewed it through a 6X rifle scope for a good two minutes at least. We were standing on a steep incline and balance was a major factor in all of this.  Not wanting to take a chance shot, he opted to wait until he could get a better shot, even if it meant not getting another shot period.  He later described it to me as highly similar to Cliff Crooks Wild Creek photo.  All except the shoulders were not squared off, but were rolled forward and hanging down in front.  The head seemed small, and he said he could clearly see hair on its arms blowing in the breeze.  But the face he said was was very close to Cliff Crooks photo.

Friday night we heard 4 vocalizations at different times, nothing regular at all. But no activity in or near camp.  So Saturday afternoon, we were totally beat, from the previous days activities and not feeling well at all.  So we called it a loss and headed back, home vowing to return at a later date.  We just didn't want to try to traverse the area across the river as it was more rugged and we were totally spent already.  So we stopped in at an area in NE Texas  at Pat Mayse Lake just outside of Powderly Texas. on our way home and hit the woods in this area for a bit.  David had told me about this place so we wanted to check it out, since we were coming right through the area.
I went into a deeper part than the rest, and A went straight in and veered to his right and worked his way around back towards B and David and his son John.  I was the only stupid one to go into the deepest forbidden part!  LOL!  (NOTE- It got deeper and darker the further I went and I didn't go into the actual DEEPEST DARKEST part)  Anyway, it just seemed better & better as the more I walked into the area, the quieter it got.   Actually it was TOO quiet in there where I went into.  I noticed that I walked out of the insect and bird sounds into total silence, and I started feeling kinda weird, not so much as being watched, but something just wasn't right type of feeling.  I kept thinking "This is GOOD Bigfoot sign, no sounds, man this could get really good and quick.
I started to work my way back out, and found I could very well get my a$$ lost in there, if I didn't make it out before dark.  Well actually I knew that all I had to do was start walking in any direction and I would either hit a road or lake within a few miles, so I knew that much about the area.
Anyway, I would walk a ways and whistle and wait to hear if A or B would reply to give me a direction to head towards.  I was pretty sure of which way to head, but didn't want to get turned around and in any deeper than necessary.  Anyway, I kept walking and would whistle and stop to listen.  I thought I heard someone walking as well.  So I stopped and it stopped, and I whistled as I thought and hoped it was A.  Nothing, not a sound.  Well I went a ways further and whistled and it was answered by a weird bark/hack type of sound, from no more than
250 foot away behind me at most.  I dropped to my knees by a tree and spun around to get a better view and scanned the area behind me.  NOTHING, I whistled again and it barked/hacked again.  Still nothing seen, this went on for over 5 minutes and about 6 whistles.  Finally I whistled twice, as I wasn't for sure if it was a bird or not.  Either way, I had my 12 gauge with me and about 30 rounds of extra shotgun slugs and my .44 magnum on my side.  I was prepared to take to whatever monsters I might encounter.   Well I did the two whistles and it got
quiet.  It quit responding all together. Then a few seconds later I heard the bark/hack sound from further back in the deeper part of the woods, about 400-500 foot deeper into the woods. So I said, well it must have been a bird, and he flew off and barked/hacked/chirped or whatever in the hell it was doing,  so I picked back up and headed back into the direction I was heading.  I went a ways further and kept whistling but it wouldn't bark/hack back at me anymore.  I kept going and I finally got a response from A and the others who were back up at the entrance to the woods waiting on me.
We all headed out of there and A and B headed for their homes.  I didn't mention this weird occurrence to them as I passed it off as a Bird, even though it was weird as hell, I just don't jump to Bigfoot conclusions in other words.  Well I took David home and we were talking and I asked him what type of Bird made this sound and then I imitated the sound.  The look on his face said it all, he said "That wasn't a bird, that was the one we call Spot, and your lucky, as he is really aggressive and I am surprised he didn't come out and head straight for
you"!

As A told me on the phone this morning. "Damn partner you should have told me about that sound, hell I've had them do that to me over here at my place before, and I would have went back in there with you and took
to his a$$"!  I told him it was actually probably best that we all left as we were all tired and wore out and really not in any condition to have a war with a group of giant monkeys.
 

Description of Creature:  Highly similar to Cliff Crooks Wild Creek photo.  All except the shoulders were not squared off, but were rolled forward and hanging down in front.  The head seemed small, and he said he could clearly see hair on its arms blowing in the breeze.  But the face he said was was very close to Cliff Crooks photo.

Other Notes: This general area of NE Texas, and Oklahoma has a history of bigfoot activity.  The Texas incident is near where the "Manimal" used to prowl.  by another large animal. The sounds late up in the night were growls
