REPORT RECEIVED From: The GCBRO Online Report Submission Form.
DATE:
June 19, 2003
TIME:
9:30 pm
LOCATION:
Ulster County, New York
TERRAIN:
Wooded
OBSERVED:
My friend and I were coming back from a meeting and as we were driving
up XXXX Road, I observed something on the shoulder of the road coming out
of the laurel onto the road. At first I thought I was seeing things.
It was standing erect, it was covered from head to toe with long brown
hair and it was huge. I estimated it to be about 8 feet tall.
It took about 5 seconds or so to register. I turned to my friend,
who is a certified hunting guide in New York and who has been doing Spring
bear hunts in Canada for years and asked him if he just saw what I saw.
He said, "I wasn't going to say anything, because I don't know what the
hell that just was". Then he made a comment about it being a bear
standing. But he said it as if it was a question. Then we turned
around to see what it was but it was gone. The rest of the ride was
quiet until we got to his house and we both think we know what it was.
I would have never believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.
I went back after dropping him off and looked around. You could see
where something very large came through the laurel and crossed the road
into a small grassy field that crosses a stream and goes up the mountain.
There were no foot prints that I could see, but the path it left looked
as if it was on two legs.
