DATE:
September 11, 1983
TIME:
11:00 pm
LOCATION:
Franklin County, New York in the Adirondack Mountains
TERRAIN:
Heavy woods, stream and very hilly.
OBSERVED:
I was camping with four friends on some state land. From the topographical
maps we had, we were about ten miles away from civilization in any direction.
It was desolate and no one was around. We were all sitting by a campfire
we had made and drinking beer, when we all heard a very loud yell. It was
a sound I never heard before and one I could not describe. It did not sound
like any animal I heard before. What was odd was that moments before we
heard the yell, it seemed as though nature became very quiet. I did not
hear a sound, or any of the usual sounds you often hear in the woods at
night. That sound scared the daylights out of me and I do not scare easy.
From all the reports I have read recently from others who reported strange
noises I feel pretty confident it was a Bigfoot I heard that night. I did
not see anything nor did I smell any fowl orders, but whatever made that
noise was no more than fifty yards away. Whatever made that noise was huge
and I convinced myself that he had to be some mountain lion or something
else in the cat family, but it did not sound like a cat and I could not
come up with any rationale explanation. I still can't. Anyway, I figured
I should report this and have.
