LOCATION:   Columbia County, New York 
 

TERRAIN:    Other 
 

OBSERVED:    Was camping just off the western border of the Camp Bidi national historical site. About 10 at night heard a loud knocking, like wood on wood but couldn't see much because of the campfire light. That was followed by rustling in the bushes near the creek and a very loud howl. Very alarming. After a sleepless night, I got the heck out of there, so no idea if there were footprints or what. Never camping out there again.
