OBSERVED:    The way I know the exact time was that I was just about to go into a friends house for a live radio webcast. I had stepped outside for a smoke, as we would be inside and could not go out for the next hour. I was looking SSE, from their back porch area, across an open powerline easement, at a hillside, just over the train tracks. If one were on the hill, where I estimate the eyes were, and looked south you would be looking out over the Round Valley Reservoir. As I was looking at the hill and tree line I caught a flash of red. As I continued to look I saw two red eyes, approximately 6-8 feet off the ground. They were very wide apart. Also as I watched they winked, went to one, then back to two, as if it had looked to the west. It was approximately 150 feet away and I could not discern a figure. The evening was clear and you could see stars, wind was going towards its position. There was ambient light from a street light about 100 feet ESE from me, there was also some lights from the surrounding houses. I was
called inside, but did not say anything to anyone as I did not know everyone there. An hour later I was outside again and did not see anything in this area while I was smoking another cigarette. I did mention it to my buddy I was with the next day, he believes they are here as well.
 

Activities of Witness:   I was outside with two other people, they were about 30 feet to my left walking a dog, outside smoking. I did not mention it to them. One I knew and one I did not know well, so I kept it to myself for that moment. I wanted to be quiet and observe. It felt like it was watching me and the folks to my left.
 

Description of Creature:  I could only see big red eyes about 6-8 feet off the ground.

Upon contact the witness had this additional information to add to this report.

I forgot to metion one other thing in my report. About 10 minutes before this sighting I had given about 2-3 bobwhite calls. Then went inside for about 3-4 minutes.
