OBSERVED:    My late husband and I were driving on Highway XX, headed for XXXX Lake.  It was hot and muggy, and had just gotten dark.  We had slowed down to approximately 45 mph after passing by a local country grocery store and was preparing to accelerate back to the 55 mph speed limit, when all of a sudden we noticed a large creature of some type sitting in the middle of the road.  The animal was approximately 6 ft tall "sitting" on the road, so we estimated it would have been taller than 7 ft if it had been standing erect.  Its entire body was covered in a dark reddish brown  hair that was tangled and dirty.  Its face appeared to have human characteristics, but was also covered in hair.  It did not move when we passed by it, but my husband and I immediately looked at each other and asked "what the h*ll was that".  We rolled down our car windows and observed a stench as we drove on down the road.  We were scared out of our wits because of the enormity of the animal, and immediately identified it as a Big Foot.  We had planned to camp out on XXXX Lake that night, but instead we spent the night locked in our car (in the middle of July) because we were scared it would follow us.  We were not intoxicated or under the influence of any substances.  The terrain in that area was wooded and somewhat marshy.  
 

Activities of Witness:   Driving down a 2-lane country road, just listening to the radio.  
 

Description of Creature:  The animal was approximately 6 ft tall "sitting" on the road, so we estimated it would have been taller than 7 ft if it had been standing erect.  Its entire body was covered in a dark reddish brown hair that was tangled.  Its face appeared to have human characteristics, but was also covered in hair.

Other (Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes:    Over the years we told many people of this sighting, and many of the old-times in this area indicated they were not surprised to hear about this.  Although we could not find anyone else who had actually encountered this creature, we were told by many that they had heard noises in the woods consistent with a creature of this size, that they could not identify.
