OBSERVED:      It was over a course of about 2-3 weeks. I was a Deputy with the
DeSoto County Sheriff's Department from 1996-1998. Several occasions I would pull off the side of the road to stretch my legs and smoke a cigarette. I would have this strange feeling of being watched, you know that something is watching you and you just feel that whatever it is alot bigger than you are.  I'm no little guy I'm 6'0" weigh about 290 and I don't scare easy.  So I would finish up and get going.

Late one night i guess it was about 12:30 am i driving through a residential area which was in a very wooded area.   About 25-30 yards in front of my patrol car something very large crossed the road and it walked on 2 legs like a human.  At first I thought it might have been a prowler or someone out walking. But the thing that amazed me was how fast it got from the side of the road to the other.  Whatever it was it did not run across the road.

When I got to the area where I thought it had crossed I turned on my alley light and spot light in the woods to see if I could see anything. I did see two red glowing eyes just above the trees. I just put it off as a raccoon or a possum. After a few seconds the glowing eyes just disappeared.

About a week later my father was riding with me, we stopped to relieve ourselves and smoke a cigarette. We both got an eerie feeling and we looked at each other and said it's about time we got going again. I tell you one thing I unholstered my side arm and I still did not feel right, so we go back into my patrol car and left. I never heard anything out of the ordinary but I do know that whatever it was, it was not human. I would bet my life on it.

The next day after seeing the glowing eyes. I went back to the area to look the place over for any signs of anything. I did notice that the trees were about a foot over my head and the glowing eyes I say were well above that. Every time after that when I got out of my patrol car at night I did so with gun in hand.
 

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS(ES):    Driving around in a patrol car, stopped for a break
 

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:     Really never got a good look.  All I could tell it was very large. I did ask some residents in the area if there were any bears and they all said no.  A few asked why was I inquiring about bears. I put it off as a prowler in the area. The one's that asked about my inquiry acting as if they knew something but were not going to tell.  I honestly can not remember who these few people were.
 

OTHER NOTES:     The next day after seeing the glowing eyes. I went back to the area to look the place over for any signs of anything.
