LOCATION:
Clarke County, Mississippi
TERRAIN:
Wooded
OBSERVED:
We were doing a 41 mile kayaking trip from Chunky, MS to Quitman, MS. We
were running out of day light and decided to camp for the night up on a
steep bank, which seemed to be the only choice. After setting a few things
up at camp when we heard a boom or crash plus rustling, not gun shot. The
river surrounded our camp except one wooded area, the same direction the
sound came from. It was similar to a tree falling or a large branch falling
except the wooded are was thick with small shrub like trees for the most
part, not many big oaks. Also there was no snapping noise like a branch
or tree would make, it sounded like an impact of something. At first I
thought that there might have been a river house or something on the other
side of thicket, so I yelled hello. The are we were in was far away from
any home but I went looking around after awhile and never found a house
or fallen tree. The noise was heard one more time too before night fall.
We made a fire and kind of played it off as if it was nothing because we
didn't have time to find a new location. Though eyes and ears were on full
alert all night. The more I thought about it though the more the thought
of a Bigfoot came to mind.
Additional
Info: A deer carcass
was found in the area of the campsite. It had been decomposing for quite
some time though. The front legs were missing and the back legs seemed
twisted like, other than that the bones were intact from what I could see.
Also the area was very active at night with different animals such as owls,
coyotes, small critters, and beavers.
Activities
of Witness: Kayaking,
making a campsite suitable.
Description
of Creature: Didn't see any creature,
just heard the loud impact like noises.
Other
