DATE: December 20, 1992
TIME: 2:30 pm
LOCATION: Clarke County Mississippi
TERRAIN:
Wooded
OBSERVED:
A friend and I were deer hunting in rural Clarke
County MS in the afternoon. The weather was warm and sunny about
60*F. We were sitting in the truck just BSing and overlooking a
small field with a large tree at the edge of the wood line. The field
had broom sage about 36" tall.
We were sitting in the trucks (with weapons) and talking when something
popped out of the wood line.
At first, it appeared to be a rather large person wearing a very large
overcoat that was torn or shredded of sorts. Then we realized it
was much too large for a human. Also, deer season in the woods
without a safety orange vest is something you do not do in Clarke
County. The creature (?) looked directly at us for about 10
seconds standing in the wood line. The sun was directly front
(winter angle) and revealed him from head to toe at a distance of about
100 yards to 150(?).
Activities of Witness: Hunting and sitting in the truck, overlooking a small
field.
Description of Creature: This creature stood very
tall and erect. No slouching or bent over posture was
noted. Very long arms/legs. Big torso but not overly fat as
a person. The creature did not appear startled but rather look
directly at both of us and the vehicle then quickly ducked and turned
180 degrees back into and under the tree line. Not in a panic
state, but just rather deliberate and very swift.
It appeared to be brownish mud colored with tattered hair from the top
of the head to the shoulders. Very large about 7-8' tall about
350-450 lb. estimated, which may be light. Wide shoulders but
waste line not distinctly smaller. No distinct clothing but
matted hair(?)
that resembled tattered cloth(?)(upon first glance) hanging perhaps 5-6
inches.
Other Notes:
We both looked at each other and asked "did you just
see that @#$t."? Yea, what in the hell was that? We both
went under the tree about 150 yards away but found no trace of anything
or anyone.
We both had weapons but had no opportunity for a shot. This
happened in about 10 seconds, and you generally do not pull a weapon
on what first appears to be a person. We were approximately 1
mile off the nearest rural road and very distant to any housing.
We did not tell anyone except for a couple of other guys. They
called us "nut cases", and what we were smoking, so
we never talked about it again.
