REPORT RECEIVED From: The GCBRO Online Report Submission Form.
DATE:
02/95
TIME:
2300 hrs --- 0530 hrs
LOCATION:
Mississippi, Choctaw County
TERRAIN:
Swampy
OBSERVED:
A friend and I were hunting coyotes one nite about 2300 hrs and something
chased us
for about 4 1/2 hours through the
swamp. we could clearly hear it walking right toward us.
Even when we would change positions
it would change directions and keep coming toward us. It
would not follow us into the water.
We stayed in the water since it didn't seem to want to
follow us thare. We never saw any
creature but could definately tell it was a very large
bi-pedal creature. we led it to
the back side of the swamp and then cut staight across to get
away.
Well after the initial contact,
more than an hour, the coyotes seemed to come from
everywhre at once. We could see
them plain in the moonlight and in the open area of shollow
water. The creature (we assume)
made some growly-grunting noises. It also made a sound, oddly
enough, like some one banging two
lead pipes together. But, it sounded more vocal.
Activities of Witness:
We were hunting coyotes. We had set up on a hill above the swamp in a cut-over
to try to call in a couple of coyotes.
Description of Creature:
N/A
Other Notes:
Even though it was as clear nite as it could be I was still using a starlight
night-vision scope on my rifle.
Still, I could not ever get a sight of anything.
Additional Notes or Comments: Within our own little novice investigation we have uncovered several other sighting stories from people who were too afraid to say something. One of the stories came from my own brother. Another came from my fater and one from my grand father. Probably a dozen or more in all.
