Report Submission Form.
DATE:
September 16, 2003
TIME:
7:45pm
LOCATION:
Missouri, Greene County
TERRAIN:
Wooded
OBSERVED:
I was driving north on Highway XXX when i noticed another car on the side
of the road with it's flashers on. I stopped to see if everything
was all right with the driver and he asked me," Do you see what I am looking
at?" and when I said "no" he turned on a spotlight he had on his car and
he pointed it at what he was looking at.
In the ditch near a heavily wooded
area was a dead deer and beside the deer was an extremely hairy animal.
At first I thought it was a wild dog but after a minute or so it stood
straight up and looked over in our direction. It then picked the
deer up by the rear legs and went off through the woods. I then looked
at the guy who's car I was at and I asked his name. He told me he
did not want to be any part of this that no one would believe what he just
saw. We both agreed to get the hell out of there (where we were at)!
Activities of Witness:
I was driving North on Highway XXX towards XXXXXX, Missouri.I was roughly
3 miles from the main part of town. When I noticed the car on the side
of the road.. I stopped to see if he was having any car trouble and if
I could be of any help.
Description of Creature: As this thing was walking into the woods there was a fence in front of it that had to be at least 4 feet tall...it stepped over the fence without even touching it. all i heard was some grunting..nothing else.
It was...very hairy...approx. 7-8
feet tall...3-3.5 feet wide...Part of me wanted to stay around and watch
it some more but the other part of me wanted to get the hell out of there.
Other Notes:
What are the odds that in the area that I saw this thing there were no
animals...no dogs, cows, horses...nothing...and it was quiet...dead quiet.
Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments: Upon contact via telephone by GCBRO Researcher's Mark and Vanessa Orchard, this additional information was obtained:
I talked to the witness today by telephone. He confirms the report he posted on the site. He and a friend went back to the area in the daylight, but didn't see any tracks. He did say that the grass was mashed down and there was still a musky smell in the air. I know the area he is talking about and his description is accurate. The only thing he added was that when the "creature" stood up (dragging a deer carcass) it scared the s*%t out of him.
