Bigfoot Sightings

OBSERVED: I have a four season cabin on Bassett Lake in Superior National Forest in St Louis County near Brimson, Minnesota. I am a three and a half retired Software Engineer of 41 years. I spend a lot of time at my lake home. On October 26, I went out fishing walleyes in my 16' boat. The lake is 436 acres, about two miles long and half mile wide. I was the only boat on the lake at 5:30 pm. The lake was very calm and I was down in the south end fishing a favorite walleye spot some fifty feet from shore when I spotted a tall man type figure about 300 yards away walking quite fast very near shore in bull rushes in about 1-2 feet of water. The figure was tan in color, looked broad shouldered and bulky coming towards me close along the shore line which is owned by the Federal government (Superior National Forest). As government land no cabins are allowed along this stretch of about 2 miles of shore line. At first I thought it was some person walking in the water but IT had no fishing gear or a gun for hunting and no discernible clothing. Also, it looked to me IT was bigger than a human being as it seemed to have quite tall and had longer arms than a human. The head did not stand out and I could not see any facial features as it seemed to have no neck. I think I was hidden from his view sitting in my boat as I was behind a tiny grass island. After a minute or two, it was now maybe 200 yards from me and still moving fast, still in the water near the shore. So, I decided to try and get closer and pulled up my electric motor. After starting my gas motor, I looked up towards the figure and IT was gone. I imagined IT heard my motor start and realized somebody was around. Surprised that he disappeared, I thought that if the figure was human it would be less likely to disappear so quickly. I went back to my cabin then really not contemplating too much about the strange sighting. Two weeks later during deer hunting camp with my two grown boys, at supper one evening, I mentioned the episode of the strange figure. One of my boys immediately Goggled Big Foot Sightings in Minnesota and I was surprised to find out there were BF sightings in MN. It was then I decided to log my experience on this web site.

Additional Info: No other people or boats on the lake, very calm water, no other noise. Early evening, sun still up and low on the horizon.

Activities of Witness: fishing in my small boat using electric motor for trolling. hidden behind a very small grassy island from the figures view......

Description of Creature: Tall, bulky, broad, no neck, all same color of tan. could not discern any hair, face or human clothing

Other Notes: during the 31 years on this lake I have never seen a human walking on this stretch of Superior National Forest lake shoreline.
