DATE: 5/28/72
TIME: Afternoon
LOCATION: Goodhue, Minnesota, Goodhue County
TERRAIN: Wooded
OBSERVED: I am not sure how relevent this is and this is the first time I have ever reported this. I was seven years old at the time but i still remember it very clearly. My younger sister and I had been taking a walk with our Grandpa down the gravel road that ran by our house. Off to the side there is sand/dirt where the gravel has washed away. We came upon a huge footprint, kind of like whatever had made it had stepped onto this soft area before continuing up the grassy hill to the left. I was fascinated, squatting down to look at it, but my Grandpa got extremely nervous and insisted on taking us back to the house. I can't forget it though and had to make a report after years of silence.
Growing up in this area we had a lot of strange things happen. Two happenings that might be related to this are we had dogs. Something used to come down at night and terrify them.We would find them huddling in the culvert. My mother said that once she saw something black loping across the backyard, she won't talk about it now though. One morning I was awoken to something imitating the sound of a rooster crowing, but it sounded as if it came from a very large set of lungs! We had chickens at the time but to my knowledge none ever came up missing.
For a short time I lived with my husband at the house. I only heard this once but he claims to have heard it several times. A kind of howling noise, it sounded like nothing else I ever heard. When I first heard the sounds of a supposed Bigfoot on tape, which was recently. I was shocked because it sounded so similiar though I believe what I heard was a bit deeper.
