TERRAIN:         Wooded and swampy
 

OBSERVED:      Our event happened like this: On another Bigfoot research site there are two reports out in the Washinaw County area, so we went out to see if we could maybe run into the creature or at least find evidence.  Well, anyhow, while we were out in the woods walking my friend said that he had seen something big jump into the woods so we went to investigate.  We did not find anything so we decided to cut through the woods.  As we did, we heard some type of commotion which sounded a lot like monkey sounds and they were loud.

So we stuck around but I was too nervous to find out what it was.  It was dark and a lot of foilage and we could not see with the flashlights so we left the area and came back another day in the day time.  This is when we found a tree that was about 2" in diameter broken about four feet off the ground.  We also found a print but it was not good enough to plaster.  I measured it and it measered 17" long and around 7" wide.  On our third time we went out there it was fall and there were no leaves so we went out to the area where we had our encounter.
As we walked through the woods, we had found a shelter of some sort but it was in the area where we had the vocalizations. The only problem with this shelter is that we are not sure if deer hunter constructed the shelter or if it was the big guy.  I did send pictures to Mary of the GCBRO.  Hopefully she can post them and you all can make your own choice of who made it.
