LOCATION:
Michigan, Shiawassee County
TERRAIN:
Wooded
OBSERVED:
I was walking my dog we took a shortcut through a thick area of woods,
not bigger then 40 acres or so, surrounded by farms. My dog became startled
and didnt want to go into the woods any farther, and started whining and
pulling me back out. At that instant I heard a snort, thinking it was a
deer I blew it off. My dog began
to bark and growl, which is very unlike my dog. I became a little scared
but still thought it was a deer, It was starting to get dark, and in the
woods it was harder to see due to the
thinkness of it. I followed my
dogs lead, and when we were about 20 yards from the edge of a feilds, I
heard, crashing, and louds thumps, like someone was pounding the ground,
as I looked back, I saw something that will haunt me FOREVER!
I saw a large animal standing upright
running at a full tilt not even 50 yards in the woods, it stood about 8
feet tall and took 5-7 feet strides.
My dog started to bark at it, and
it slowed down to look our way, at then I saw a glimmer off of its head,
looking at us only momentarily, it turned and ran straight away from us
into the woods. When I reached home I told my wife, and she of course thought
I was nuts. So I took our dog and went for a
drive to see if I could see it
again. It has been over a month and no sign of it, I have been back there
at least 15 more times.
