DATE: Early Sixties
TIME: A.M.
LOCATION: Worcester, Oxford County, Maine
TERRAIN:
Wooded
OBSERVED:
My
dad was often away as I was growing up and my Mom always had an irrational
fear of us going outside at night . When I had to feed my horses it WAS
to be done in the light. Some 30 years later I found out why:
I
often heard her mention the animal she saw crossing the hill below our
home, she never said much more to us than stay away from the swamp and get
home before dark,
My
Mom is 78 now and she finally told me what she saw. It was large,
hairy and walked on 2 legs. It often screamed at her when she was hanging
clothes and she was terrified to go out in the backyard. We lived in a
very unpopulated area,
We
had a large german sheperd who would not go beyond a certain point in the
field and left one day and never came back.
We
never found his body, She also complained that this creature
would
look in the windows so even on the hottest summer nights windows closed
curtains drawn. Sometimes she could hear it moving around outside.
We
often heard screams but my Dad said they were Bob-cats and to not be afraid.
My brother also spotted something large and hairy while he was hunting
not too far from our house.
