LOCATION:
Garrett County, Maryland
TERRAIN:
Wooded
OBSERVED:
I was looking for deer sign for the next hunting season, was in mountain
laurel and heard brush and limbs break 25 to 35 yards away but could not
see through the laurel, then heard what sounded like a human baby crying.
The wind then picked up , the wind was moving from S to N at the time so
my scent was going straight at the noise, then just a second or two after
the wind picked up whatever it was got enraged started breaking large limbs
and growling. I got out of dodge! (FAST) I knew whatever it was was
way more powerful then myself and wanted me out now!!! I left and never
went back. THE ONLY TIME IN 33 YEARS OF HUNTING I'VE EVER RAN OUT OF THE
WOODS.
Additional
Info: The only reason
Im contacting you all now is I was reading bigfoot sightings and found
that people was hearing baby's crying. Well I can remember that I
heard that and was asking myself at the time why would there be baby's
out here? I thought that it was a bear at the time with cubs. I recently
listened to bear cubs crying and that is not what I heard!!!!!
Activities
of Witness: Was visiting
my family in western pa and was alone and stopped by area that I had recently
started to deer hunt.
Description
of Creature: Never seen it because
of the mountain laurel.
Other
Notes: No, but I can
tell you that some friends that I know from the area have said the deer
herd in that area has diminished to the point of them seeing no deer, when
I was hunting the area deer was plentiful! I've hunted the area in different
locations and there is a lot of dense laurel thickets everywhere, so thick
it's very difficult for a human to get through it believe me I've done
deer drives through some of the thickets.....LOL.
Other
(Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes:
I don't no I live 2.5 hours away from area.
