DATE:06/07/73
TIME:
After midnight
LOCATION:
Annapolis, MD, Bay Ridge Ave., Anne-Arundel
County
TERRAIN:Semi
wooded urban terrain.
OBSERVED:
My brother experienced this. He was 14 at the time and was spending the
night (a Friday) in our parents' Open Road camper. He was watching tv when
he noticed a shadow cutting the light between our rear
neighbors'
back porch light and the camper. He shut off the tv and saw a shadow passing
around the camper roof, which was opaque white plastic, and heard a gentle
tapping noise go around the camper at the same time,
as
if the entity was tapping against the camper deliberately.
My
brother spent the rest of the night awake and terrified in the camper.
At first light, he came into the house and told us what happened. We found
a human appearing hand print about 8" wide on the front of the camper,
fresh and large (1" wide) partial fingerprint on the smudgings around where
he heard the tapping noises, and large humanoid
toe
prints (1" wide) in some fresh kitty litter in our backyard I'd dumped
the day before.
My brother was not given to make up something like this. I'd had an interest in cryptozoology from before that time, and he knew this, but pooh-poohed this as fantasy. He changed his mind after this incident, and refused to sleep alone in the camper again.
Additionally, a customer of my mother (she owned a dress store in Annapolis) told Mom that she saw a huge bipedal 'tree trunk' walking in the far part of her backyard around this same time. It was nighttime, so she saw little. This was near the Annapolis Middle School, and about 2 miles from our house. Much of the area that was wooded enough to support a larger mammal is now gone due to development.
That
summer was a 'flap' summer in Maryland. This started when a chicken farmer
in Sykesville, about 1/2 hour west of Baltimore, caught a hairy giant monster
in his coop.
Activities of Witness: Watching tv in the camper.
Description of Creature: None Given

Notes: Yes, the Sykesville flap,
