DATE:    01/1975

TIME:     3 AM

LOCATION:   Webster Parish, Louisiana

TERRAIN:    Swampy

OBSERVED:    We got lost in the Bisteneau Swamp while coon hunting. We found a dry knoll and made camp and built a fire to rest and walk out at daybreak. In the dead middle of the night the coon dogs went crazy and started wrapping their leashes around the tree. We all knew without doubt we were being circled out their as we could hear movement and splash. It made several knocking noises that were unfamiliar to all of us. Now based on these siting data bases I would classify it as wood knocking.

Activities of Witness:   Splashing through swamp coon hunting...then splashing around lost.

Description of Creature:  Seemed to be a large creature 50 to 100 yards out in the swamp...circling for about 45 minutes.

Other Notes:    Competent coon dogs were upset and frightened.

Other (Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes:    My scout master told a story about a supposed 'wild woman of Bistineau' who was seen running through this area with a 'knife' in her teeth.

I had always assumed a mentally ill feral woman but never considered Patty type female with stick in mouth.

Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments N/A
