Report
Received From: The GCBRO Online
Report Submission Form.
DATE:
March 2003
TIME:
Around 11:00 pm
LOCATION:
St. Martin Parish, Louisiana
TERRAIN:
Swampy
OBSERVED:
While on patrol I witnessed something walk across the road at the edge
of my headlights. The creature walked on two legs but slumped over
slightly. When the creature crossed the road walking from the bayou
side of the road to the swamp side of the road it stopped and turned facing
my approaching patrol unit. I was traveling approx. 20 mph due to
the road being lime stone and very curvy. As I approached the creature
I turned on the white take down lights of the light bar and noticed that
it was from seven to eight feet tall. It was covered in reddish brown
fur. As I approached the eyes shined red in the light like those
of a deer. As I slowed my patrol unit down to see who or what it
was I realized that it was a bigfoot type creature. I am a Deputy
Sheriff and I work alone and I am by no means a small nor easily frightened
person, but when I realized what I was looking at I sped up and left the
area. I did not return.
Activities of Witness:
Normal patrol in the area
Description of Creature:
7 to 8 feet tall with shaggy reddish brown fur covering the entire body
with the exception of the face. The eyes glowed red in the light
like those of a deer. The windows of my patrol unit were up and the
radio was on so I did not hear or smell anything out of the norm.
Other Notes:
My father who is from Oklahoma is the only person I told about the incident.
Upon telling him of the incident he related a story to me that he heard
in Oklahoma in the early 1960's which involved a strange screaming creature
in the Little River Bottoms near Broken Bow Oklahoma
Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments: Upon contact the witness had no additional information to add to this report.
