                                                              Reported  by Confidential

RECEIVED FROM: G.C.B.R.O. Web Site Submission Form

DATE:  November 10, 2001

TIME:  During the daytime

LOCATION:  Louisiana, Sabine Parish

TERRAIN:  Mixture of rolling hills, bottoms, and pine forest

OBSERVED:   This is a second hand report that was told to me by one of the camp ground personnel, who heard it from one of the campers. A bear was spotted in the campground near the resevoir. From the eyewitness account, the bear appeared to be foraging in the woods next to the campground. It was also noted that this bear was doing this while walking on two feet. It is my understanding(from talking to locals&others who have hunted the area ) that bears are not normally encountered in this part of western La. What brought this to mind was reading about the bigfoot activity in the NW part of the state on this website. The details are unknown , but the absence of black bears to the region and the bigfoot reports leaves me thinking that it may have been a case of mistaken identity. I'm sorry that I could not provide more info but I had not made any connection to the subject at the time I was told of this.

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS(ES):  Lounging around the campsite

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:  A creature that resembled a bear but walked on two feet.

OTHER NOTES:   According to the witness this was the first bear sighting in the park.
