TIME:     Sometime after noon
 

LOCATION:   Louisiana, Ouachita Parish
 

TERRAIN:    Swampy, this is an area that is a lot of swamp, brackish water and natural gas pipelines.
 

OBSERVED:    My friend and I were hiking through the "break" which is a maze of trails that went back maybe 5 miles.  We were hiking up a fairly steep hill that lead to a gas field.  This hill started at the very edge of the "break".  This edge was as far as you could hike or walk. The only way to go further was by boat.  So, we started to cut back by another trail.  This was the middle of a hot Louisiana summer and the grasses were tall and dry yellow.  She and I were almost to the top when we heard something move through the dry grass.  We both looked and saw a light brown colored creature in the grass.  It was like the color of a rabbit during the summer months so we weren't scared at the time.  My friend bent forward and said "oh, it's a rabbit" she was trying to solicit it like a pet cat or dog when "it" popped out of the tall dry grass.  I have to tell you that to this day, telling this still raises the hair on the back of my neck.  Anyway it stared at you.........at least at me.  When it first popped out the grass my friend screamed and started to run down the hill.  I was paralyzed.  I stood eye to eye with this creature for what seemed like an eternity.  I finally got my wits together and ran.  We ran all the way back to my house crying.  We broke up to tell my momma knowing that she would not believe us.  I grew up getting teased about seeing big foot ......through junior high, high school and college.  I have a small home town.  But, I did not lie then nor now.  What would I have to gain by making people think that I'm making something up.  My friend to this day still contests to the same experience.  I can give more detail but I don't want to type that much.  Hope this helps.  .......PS........I never went back into that wooded swampy area again.

Activities of Witness:   WE were hiking and talking.  My friend was in walking beside me until were heard movement through the tall grass.  She then went forward to investigate what she thought was a rabbit.
 

Description of Creature:  It was small and lean.  Very short hair all over.  The color of it's hair was golden brown.  It's eyes were yellow green. "IT" was very human shaped though!!  It crouched with it's hands between it's legs like we might if we squatted down.
 

Other Notes:    There were reported sightings of other big foots but not in my neighborhood.  My parish butted up to Morehouse parish which reported many sightings of big foot.  I personally never saw it again.
