Additional
Notes and or Follow up Comments:
GCBRO Researchers, Jim Lansdale and Steve
Conroy Contacted the witness and did a follow up investigation. Here
is there report. - We received this report
09/26/2010 at approximately 3:30 PM CST. I called this person immediately
setting up a time to visit with her the next day. EasTexSteve and
I made the trip, about 1 and half hour drive, the following day 09/27/2010
arriving at her home at 10:30 AM.
After
a short visit we began inspecting the tracks she already had poured.
There was not a visible track line but there were large scuff marks before
and after the two tracks she poured in her drive way which was a sandy
gravel surface. The poured tracks were not discernable but not completely
without some definition. The lady covered the tracks over night to
protect against weather.
The
below track had already been poured with plaster the day before. You can
still see the outline along with the ball push which I consider the hinge
of the foot. The track measured approximately 20 inches but in reality
considering the plaster pour the track would be approximately 19 inches
in length…the width of the ball of the track before plaster would have
been approximately 7 inches. This track appeared to have five toes.
Items
of interest the witness reported.
A
planter constructed of land scape timbers was turned over on its side.
I picked this planter up estimating it weighed approximately 30 pounds.
Also reported was her back screen door that was torn with the wood frame
having damage. We could rule out wind or weather as causing the planter
to overturn or do this type of damage to the back screen door. There
were not any scratch or chew marks on this back damaged wooden screen door.
This lady also reported that after returning home she noticed one of her
front storm doors was wide open. While we were there a gust
of wind blew this same front storm door open…
This
person reported 16 chickens were found dead in her chicken pen with one
being found dead on the day of our visit. After inspecting the corpse
we determined by bite marks that the chicken was killed by some type of
canine. Steve located several small entries a canine or possibly
a raccoon could have entered the pen. All the dead chickens were
found inside the pen suggesting canine.
Her
home was situated in approximately 1 acre of open land surrounded by pine
timber with a neighbor located approximately 100 yards south of her home.
Both homes other then around their immediate homes were surrounded by pine
timber. There was one dirt road south of both homes that ran west
towards the lake.
Steve
and I did a thorough investigation of hers and surrounding property.
The pine thicket in front of her home across the black top road.
This area was thick with briars and a growth of 7 year old pines.
We only found smaller trails and work done by an armadillo. We couldn’t
find an entry or exit from this large pine thicket leading to the black
top where the lady reported hearing strange sounds from. According
to the person there is a large pond several miles beyond her home and this
pine thicket. She also reported something walking inside the pine thicket
following her as she walked to her chicken pen. When she would stop
to listen this would stop. Her husband told his wife while working
on the home that some unidentified something was making a screaming sound.
Steve
did find a trail where something had walked parallel to the road but not
anything definitive. He and I walked to the back of the home towards
the pond. The water in the pond was at a low level since lack of
rain. We did see boot marks and several holes where it appeared the
fisherman was digging for bait with a shovel. Steve also found a
cane pole. There were a few deer and raccoon prints in the softer
mud around this pond. There was also a trail, appeared mowed, leading
from the edge of the pond through a pine thicket to her neighbors home
who lived approximately 100 yards away. After inspecting this pond
area we went back to ask the person about the items found at the pond.
She was unaware of anyone fishing nor did she know about any trail from
the pond that leads us to her neighbors home. The pond itself didn’t
belong to her but to her neighbor who had mentioned something taking food
from her freezer.
Steve,
this lady and I then drove to her neighbor’s home. This was an older
lady that was hospitable and welcomed us into her home. This lady
then explained that it wasn’t her who lost meat to some intruder but a
man that lived several miles from her home. According to this lady
the man had skinned a deer leaving the meat inside a cooler. When
he returned the meat was gone.
Steve
and I questioned the lady about the mowed trail and possibly her live in
son-in-law fishing the pond. She said her son-in-law had fished the
pond sometime back was unaware of any mowed trail leading to the pond.
There was not any doubt with us knowing this trail had been mowed. This
lady also told us of a young man, maybe teenager, was caught being a peeping
tom when her granddaughters lived with her.
She
did tell us about something beating on the end of her trailer at night
at the head of her bed first thinking it was a limb from a tree but after
inspecting her property she found no trees were close to cause this beating
sound. The first picture is higher up on the trailer with the second
picture being at approximately the height she heard the beating sounds.
Steve
and I then began our investigation of her property. She had an older
log building along with an older barn. There were not any significant
trails in or around either of these structures. We then began walking
the woods back behind her home. We did find several items of interest
but IMO seem insignificant simply because the lack of any significant sign
made by any animals.
There
was a hard wood tree broken close to the ground. It takes a great
deal of force to break a hard wood that is approximately 3 to 4 inches
across but it can be done by any kid capable of climbing and riding the
tree to the ground. Also found was a tree twist. Both the tree
broken and tree twist seemed unusual because of the area they were in but
is not suggestive of BF activity.
After
searching this property we returned back to the two ladies who were now
joined by their daughters. One daughter reported that she and her
husband had heard unfamiliar loud screams/growls at night with her husband
attempting to find the cause but was not successful.
Items
of interest: The reporting lady told us that someone had attempted
to steal her car; bear have been seen in and around this area along with
large black panthers. From our investigation knowing there are three
large lakes and many creeks nearby their homes it would suggest it is possible
they have some type of BF activity. Both ladies told us about the
reporting person’s dog barking all night with us thinking the dog may have
been barking at armadillos which are plentiful in and around their properties
or barking at the animal in her chicken pen. There is a possibility
but without any significant evidence the dog could be barking because of
these creatures coming around their homes. Both ladies reported a
lack of snakes this year around their properties.
Steve
and I left after spending 5 hours interviewing the persons and investigating
the properties. It is in our opinion that something did make the
tracks she cast and both parties were earnest and sincere with what they
reported. From what we were told by these two ladies we did understand
that there were some undesirable humans living within walking distance
of their collective homes.
I
left the lady my telephone number to call if she has any more activity.
