OBSERVED:    I was thirteen years old at the time, it was January of 1970, my older brother had asked if I could help him with a construction project that he was working on under the overhang at the back of his house.  He had just recently purchased the house and had not installed any backyard lighting so we were using a mechanics trouble light, hung from a hook on the edge of the roof.  I don't remember which one of us saw it first, but there were a large pair of eyes illuminated by the drop light.  I think the color was pink.  They were shining back at us from the woods, about five feet from the left property line and maybe fifteen feet into the brambles.  My brother picked up a baby food jar and threw it at the eyes, and at that they disappeared.  We  figured it had left so we continued working.  Several minutes later we saw them again, this time they were about 40 to 50 feet to the right.  Let it be noted that even though it was January and there were leaves on the ground that no sounds were heard.  In a moment of bravery I ran at it while shouting and flailing my arms.  I closed distance to within about twenty feet of the backyard property line and noticed that the eyes were looking right at me and not moving, my bravery ran out and common sense kicked in.  I reversed course and ran the other way to around the house and inside, my brother right in front of me , I remember him reaching outside just enough to unplug the light. All this time has passed, and I am now 45 years old.  My older brother phoned me to tell me about a show on tv about creatures in Louisiana and how what we had experienced may have been related.  It should be said that the woods behind the house was like a jungle with tangles of blackberry vines and thick growth, the ground was at least three feet lower there, looking back we figure that the eyes were at an elevation of four feet above the back yard, or a total of at least seven feet. I obviously had not done the calculations when I decided to run at this sighting, especially since there was NO FENCE!  My brother had one installed a couple weeks later. Nothing was seen or heard thereafter.

Description of Creature:  Large reflective eyes, spaced widely apart and at the front not side like other animals
 

Other Notes:    At the time neither of us had heard of "Big Foot" or any other creatures and we did not make the possible connection for 33 years.
