LOCATION:
Knox County, Kentucky
TERRAIN:
Large wooded area with large field, in blackberry patch
OBSERVED:
One night me my cousin and a few other friends had been picking blackberries
all day. It was mid summer day, we had decided to camp out all night
to get a early start on the berries because they are at the largest point
just before the morning dew has dried. Anyways we had a long day
it was around 1a.m so we were going to sleep we had built a fire before,
we all were dead asleep when a loud crashing noise came from the surrounding
woods I awoke only to realize my cousin beside me was scared so bad he
couldn't move. The sound was as though something was running in circles
around us knocking down small trees, our fire had almost burned out by
this time and i could barely make out a large figure at least 7.5 to 8
feet in high we heard a low grumbling noise during the whole time also
a smell as though something was rotten we then managed to get up and run
nearly 1 mile out of the patch never stopping for a breath the whole time
we could still here it behind us. This thing whatever it was could have
caught us at any time. Though i was scared at the time I feel this thing
was only investigating us. The next morning we returned to find many
small trees downed and a new path ripped through the briar patch.

A FRIEND TOLD US LATER THAT WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER. HE WAS HUNTING ON THE
RAILROAD TRACKS WHICH ARE BEHIND THE FLOOD WALL ALSO. HE SAID HE WAS CHASING
A DEER AND FELL AS HE ROSE HE SAID, STANDING DIRECTLY OVER HIM WAS THE
SAME CREATURE. HE SAID HE BELIEVED HE HAD CAME FACE TO FACE WITH THE DEVIL
THOUGH.
