LOCATION:   Harvey County, Kansas 
 

TERRAIN:    Wooded 
 

OBSERVED:    Very angry deep growl and rustling of trees while my wife and I was fishing the little arkansas river. never heard anything like it before and i immediately walked up the bank to see what it was and i couldn't see anything. i started yelling as to scare it away and never heard it after that. it had such a deep growl it was amazing and you could just tell it was angry. I've been around a lot of deer and it didn't sound like a deer at all. I don't know what else in there would have been large enough to make that noise. It was the scariest sound I have ever heard and the longest walk I ever took back out of the river bottom to my car. ill be taking a gun next time I go down there if I ever do.
