Report
Received From: The GCBRO Online
Report Submission Form.
DATE:
October 1985
TIME:
right at daylight
LOCATION:
Bond County, Illinois
TERRAIN:
Big rocky wooded hills alongside a creek
OBSERVED:
a friend of mine went in to his stand before daylight to hunt deer. he
said after he was in his deer stand for about 10 minutes (still dark) something
that sounded like a man walking walked in the same way he did and walked
right past his stand about 50 yards past. it started what sounded like
beating on it's chest and got evidently very mad and started tearing up
trees and stuff. it was
growling and stuff making mad sounds.
when the horizon in the east just started to show it ran down towards the
creek in about 10 leaps estimated speed about 40 miles per hour or faster.
no foot prints no hair just this freaky ordeal. thought maybe someone should
know. i am the only outsider my friend has ever told of this.
Activities of Witness:
Hunting
Description of Creature:
N/A
Other Notes:
The lady that owns the property told me that in 1967 she and her now dead
husband came home at about dark in the
summer time and heard the most
terrifying scream and screaming coming from those woods. she is familiar
with panthers and such and also honey bears too. this thing scared them
so bad that they locked all doors and windows and armed themselves. stayed
up all night but it was gone or either shut up.
Another gentleman who is now deceased
mentioned something of this nature in the same area. i think his wife saw
it but i never did ask. she is still alive by the way. i know for sure
this guy shot at it cause i guess it killed his dog. i think maybe this
occurred in the summer of 1988.
Additional Notes and or Follow up Comments: Upon contact the witness had no additional information to add to this report.
