Bigfoot Sightings

OBSERVED: I should digress a little first. I have hunted that area of Troup County all of my teenage years. I was familiar with all of the wild life in the woods surrounding west point lake, and even before the lake had been built. This was not like anything I had ever seen in those woods, and I have not seen anything like it since.

It was summer and we were out of school. My cousin and I had decided to walk to the lake to go swimming, since it was only a half mile from my house going through the woods. We started through the woods and I had the distinct feeling the entire time that something or someone was watching us and following us. I could occasionally hear branching breaking as well.

In any event, we proceeded through the woods until we reached the access road leading to the lake itself. Just as we walked up the crest of the hill on the access road. I looked down the other side about 300 yards away and observed a animal of some sort standing about 6 to 7 feet in height with long black or brownish hair. I thought at first it might be a bear but it walked on two legs the entire time. I never heard any sounds from it. It never seemed to look up at us, it just walked away across the road into the woods on the other side and disappeared. My cousin and I were in a state of shock and discussed it, but decided not to take the short cut through the woods anymore for a while.

Activities of Witness: My cousin and I had been at my house hanging out, it was the middle of the summer and hot.

Description of Creature: Approximately 6 to 7 feet in height with long black to brownish color hair covering its entire body.

Other (Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes: When I was about 10 or 11 years old. My cousins and I were walking through woods near here, and thought we saw something resembling a tall man in the woods. However, it was at dusk deep in the woods.
