Swampy
OBSERVED: While at the end of my fathers fishing trip on the Escambia river. He heard several twigs snapping up the hill from his swampy fishing spot. This continued after his final cast and reel and he proceeded back to his vehicle. The landscape he had to travel consisted of swampland through bush and trees and a steep 20 ft hill. The path was about a 1/4 of a mile. As he walked through the wetlands, the sounds he assumed was an armadillo, became much louder. The sound of snapping branches and heavy footing scared him into a run. When he reached the bottom of the hill the sounds had beat him to the top. Out of fear he dropped his gear and cocked his rifle. The sounds immediately came to a silence, except for the startled birds he recalls. The only route to his vehicle was up that hill, so he grabbed his gear and made a run for it. I remember when he arrived home, (later than usual), he was pale in color and more startled than I have ever seen him.
We
went back the next day to find 1 to 2 inch branches broken at six foot
heights where he heard the sounds. He was so startled over the encounter,
while running through the woods he didn't even stop to unhook his fishing
line from the brush it got hung on. The fishing rig and line was stretched
along the path from the bottom of the hill and along his path to the vehicle
until it snapped. His story has not changed and until all the recent events
involving sasquatches hasn't been told for some time.
