TERRAIN:
Swampy
OBSERVED: Several people from work had been invited on a tour of a "ranch" that was proposed for development. The tour was in an old bus that had the top removed for easy viewing. It had been a very active tour with a lot of animals being spotted, perhaps due to the heavy rains and the swamp overflowing roads and fields. The group was made up of professional- lawyers, engineers, planners. Near the end of the tour as the bus went through a low area a bunch of wild hogs ran in front of us ... the tour guide made a comment that the animals were more active and numerous than usual. I responded, "yeah you even imported a gorilla for us" and I point to a large hair covered human shaped animal standing just over a slight rise next to the swamp about 150 yards away. No one looked so I didn't say anymore.
A few
days later I mentioned this to someone who had also been on the bus.
She said her boss saw the same thing but didn't mention it to anyone then.
I contacted him and we saw the same creature. As I, he saw it turn it's
upper body toward the bus as if he heard it moving through the flooded
road. I contacted the ranch manager and told him what I saw and he said
next time I was in the area we could go by horse back to the area and take
a look. I never followed up on it.
Activities
of Witness: Taking "wilderness
tour" in open top bus.
Description
of Creature: At least 6' closer
to 7', covered with very dark hair, shaped like a heavyweight wrestler
(sloping shoulders, no neck, bullet head). It was standing, perhaps
holding something in his hands (arms). It turned slightly toward us. Lost
sight of it as bus continued down the road and trees blocked view.
Other
Notes: This is an area
where a lot of surveying, environmental and geological investigations were
taking place. Also it was near the end of a very wet winter/spring
and much of the area was flooded.
