TERRAIN:
Mountainous Pine Forest
OBSERVED:
This weekend I was camping up in the north end of Pikes Peak National
Forest in Colorado. While the Adults (Me and my wife) were setting
up camp, my son (6), Daughter (13), Her friend (Boy 13), and our dog
Larry went for a walk exploring the woods. They came running back!
My son who's 6 was in front, and the closest said; "This really big
red bear ran across the trail in front of me, but he was just minding
his own business, and must of had something to do", (son,6) also said
that he was running on 2 legs. (son,6) was only about 10 feet away
when he ran across the trail in front of him. The older kids
said that they were having a hard time with our dog, before the sighting,
who wouldn't go any further on the walk, and kept trying to get them to
go back. "He is a Border Collie" They were coaxing the dog
to come further with them, but the dog wouldn't budge, or leave them.
Then the animal ran across the path. The boy(13 yr old) said
it ran on 2 legs, the whole time. Said it was hairy and red and 6-8
feet tall. It didn't look at them but just kept on moving, like it
was in a hurry. I asked him how it walked, and he showed me an bully
styled arm swinging walk, and long strides. He said it yelled. As
it disappeared into the woods. I asked him to describe the
noise. Mind you, that this description came from a 13 year old boy.
Please do not be offended by his description, but I think it is
valid, as he made the sound for me, and it seams really the best
description of the sound. He said it sounded like a Constipated Duck.
That's about all I got from the kids about the encounter. The area
we were camping was an open, camp anywhere area. Nobody within
a mile of us. The kids didn't really know anything about Bigfoot.
Any
additional things that were observed or heard:
When
I spoke to the person that made the report he added that his wife had seen
two very bright glowing red eyes in the trees while she was doing
dishes, and that she felt that they were so bright that they must
be from a car or truck's tail lights that were driving in the woods.
ACTIVITIES
OF WITNESS(ES): Setting up Camp
DESCRIPTION
OF CREATURE: The boy said it ran
on 2 legs, the whole time. Said it was hairy and red and 6-8
feet tall. It didn't look at them but just kept on moving, like it
was in a hurry. I asked him how it walked, and he showed me an bully
styled arm swinging walk, and long strides. He said it yelled.
OTHER
NOTES: We also found something unusual
close to the camp site that's probably unrelated. Apparently, someone
tried to burry their dog out in the woods, and some animal,
or something dug it up. The reason I say someone buried it is because
there seemed to be pieces of a blue tarp scattered about the dogs
body. Here is what was odd. There was white and black dog hair scattered
about the ground, and the dog was skinned, and gutted. The innards
were all placed together in a pile, like someone purposely put then
there together. It was almost like some hunter dug up this animal,
and skinned it for its coat. I don't think it has anything
to do with BigFoot, but thought it worth mentioning, in case it does.
OTHER
SIGHTINGS IN THIS AREA?: Through
out the 70's and 80's .
Follow up: fI met the witnesses in the same place the following weekend. The 13 year old friend described the creature's hair as dark red-brown and it appeared matted and dirty. He also added that it had long greenish black finger nails. He said it's hair on it's head was longer than the rest and that it's nose was smallish. He showed me with a tree it's height as he remembered it and this was approx. 6'6" to 7" tall. There were no smell associated with this particular part of the incident. However on 6/8 Friday(this is the following weekend) the 13 yr old daughter and her female friend came across something hairy laying down amongst a group of 5 small pine trees. The two girls were walking down a small hill and as they approached the area they smelled a strong "B.O. and puke smell". They joked with each other and made gestures of smelling their own armpits. As they got within 50-60 yards they saw what appeared to be a portion of a hairy animal sticking out of a small group of pine saplings, and the odor was making them sick. They turned around and ran back to camp. When they got back to camp the told the mother that they felt ill because they smelled something real bad but did not mention the hairy thing among the trees till the following day. I looked for hair and smelled the pine needles among several small patches of saplings but found nothing. We did find large disturbances about 13"-14" long and about 5' apart but these are indistinct and inconclusive. The area where the girls smelled the odor was littered with both dog and deer bones. The family is in my opinion very credible and now very curious. a
