LOCATION:
Miller County, Arkansas
TERRAIN:
Swampy
OBSERVED:
As I was headed into a pine thicket where I was going to hunt in a wooded
area I noticed a horse and 4 cows running. The horse and cows were running
up the hill toward me as if they had been spooked. I headed the direction
the animals were fleeing. As the woodland cleared away into the swamps
I noticed a large creature at least seven feet tall with long dark brown
hair all over its body submerged in the swamp water thigh level walking
away from me. When I saw it I realized the creature in front of me in the
distance was similar to the Fouke monster legends I had been raised with,
because it walked on two feet. The animal was trying to evade me and walked
out of site into the tree line. I ran to pursue it to get a better view.
As it reappeared I raised my rifle and aimed through the scope but it disappeared
before I could get it in my cross-hairs. Moments after it disappeared
terror set in, and I began wondering if there were others near by.
I quickly got back to my vehicle and left. I still haven't gone back
and probably never will. Why I was going to shoot it, I don't know?
But today I am glad that I did not.

Activities
of Witness: The day
prior I had visited the area to scout out a good spot to hunt. That day
I parked my vehicle on a rural logging road along the conservation area.
Left my vehicle and shortly there after I witnessed the Fouke monster.
Description
of Creature: Appeared to be approximately
seven foot tall. Long dark brown hair completely covered it's body. Walked
bi-pedal, on two feet. It appeared thinner then video I have seen on tv
of other Fouke-like monsters. Submerged into the swamp water half way up
its' thigh.
Other
Notes: The thing seemed
to be extremely leery of people.
Other
(Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes:
