OBSERVED:
I was around 12 years old at the time, and I have never considered what I witnessed to be a 'bigfoot' until now.  As a boy, I used to spend as much time outdoors as I possibly could. I remember one night that I was terrified while walking in a field that was behind my house.  My dog and I were in a deep ditch that divided the large open field in half and which also ran alongside my yard maybe 150 yards away from where I was at the time.  I recall that it was quite dark already, but I was able to make out rocks on the ground of the ditch (I think I was collecting them, but who knows what kind of adventure a 12 year old boy is on in a dark field).  While walking along and looking at the ground, something caught my attention maybe 10 feet in front of me... what at the time I thought was a naked old man covered head to toe in hair.  I realize now that it was not a naked old man I saw that night, but possibly a smaller white bigfoot.  I let out a bloodcurtling scream when I saw it, and it did the same.  In fact, it is the scream that has now convinced me that it was a bigfoot.

I remember that it was much more like a woman's scream than a man's scream.  My dog took off like a bolt of lightning to the house and I was right on his tail.  As I turned to run away, I noticed the creature run the opposite way as well.  I told my parents that I ran into a "Rip Van Winkle" in the field but needless to say they did not believe me.  With age, I now realize it is much more likely that I encountered a bigfoot than a naked old man who was completely covered in long white hair and wandering an empty field on a cool October night.

I remember making several drawings of what I called 'the crazy old man' and I wish I still had one to post with this report. Until I visited this website, I would have never considered what I actually saw was a bigfoot.  I had no idea that people saw bigfoot in Alabama--much less white haired bigfoot. It was quite dark and now I realize that I may not have had enough light to distinguish anything other than its size and hairyness. It definitely walked on two legs and was covered head to toe in white hair.  It also ran at a very high rate of speed and appeared as startled of me as I was of it.

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:

OTHER NOTES: As I have stated, when it saw me and heard my screaming it let out a scream of its own, much like a woman in terror.   The field that I encountered this creature in was bordered on one side by a large expanse of woods (several miles deep) and the other by subdivisions.  It was also bisected by Highway 411.  The ditch that I encountered it in was maybe 5-10 ft below the level of the field, so it would be out of sight in this location.
 

OTHER SIGHTINGS IN THIS AREA: I no longer live in the area.  I have no knowledge of any bigfoot sightings there other than the ones on this website.
