RECEIVED: From the G.C.B.R.O. Web Site Submission Form

DATE:            11-13-01

TIME:             Around 2:30-2:45 P.M.

LOCATION:    In the Meridianville community located in
                    northern Madison county, Alabama.

TERRAIN:      Recently picked cotton fields, mostly opened areas

OBSERVED:    My young cousin was riding his bus home from school.  As they were doing so,  something caught his attention and both him and his friend looked out into a nearby field.  What they saw, he said reminded him of either a bear or a gorilla.  He said that is was black looking and appeared to be on all fours from what he could tell.  He said that it was in the middle of a field and going away from the bus.  Upon asking if he was scared, he said no.

ACTIVITIES OF WITNESS(ES):  Riding home on the school bus in the afternoon and passing several recently picked cotton fields.

DESCRIPTION OF CREATURE:  Appeared to be on all fours.  Dark in color to being black.  No facial features could be made due to heading away from the witnesss.  Large in size from what was seen and child thought it reminded him of either a gorilla or a bear.

OTHER NOTES:  The boy's father roughly a year ago had an experience where he had just arrived at a field to do some deer hunting and as he was making his way to his tree stand in the pre-dawn hour, both him and his hunting companion heard what they could only describe as a distant, loud moan or wail.  They didn't know what it was but they claimed that it sent a cold chill down their back and they decided to cancel hunting within that area for awhile.
