LOCATION:     Around Hartford Alabama in Geneva Co.  Possibly Hwy. 52

TERRAIN:        Wooded and swampy areas around this Alabama town

OBSERVED:   This is a handed down report. I heard it from a friend of mine back in 1984 or so. He had heard it from a co-worker back then whom knew the persons whom had seen the creature. Basically its like this: Sometime in the early 80's some locals living near Hartford somewhere (I was not told exactly where) had seen tall hairy creature in a swamp on different occasions. The swamp was apparently close to where these people lived and hunted. The animal was seen in the evening hours and stuck close to or in this particular swamp I was told. From what I remember it did not cause any harm of mischief of any kind. But, it did highly unnerve those whom saw it.

Description of Creature:    Tall, hairy creature

Other Notes: There is a local legend of an area of land just above the Florida line somewhere off Hwy. 167 that has no growth in it. It is said that its a large circle out in a pasture. It is also said it was a ceremonial circle used by early Native Americans. Whether this circle exists or that nothing grows inside it is true I do not know. I've never seen it. However, the circle and Bigfoot sightings are within about a 10 mile radius.
